Princess Pool

07 27 2009

Before I was a parent I swore I would not allow hideous kids gear into my house … but Elsie insisted on this monstrosity that is now on display for all golfers who come by … (and really I became a parent and realized everything I swore off was up for debate)

No words here

In perfect Pricess fashion she wanted warm water in the pool (I blame grammie for setting this precendent) … so after 14 buckets of hot tap water she was swimming away.

Goggles

Ever since she saw Haley with Goggles she has been asking for some to try in the pool – her exact words are “I put on goggles and blow my breath out”.  When I said yes, we would look into some goggles, she then informed me that everyone needed goggles – Daddy needs pink, mommy needs pink, (insert many other people … saffie, josh, etc) all needed pink goggles – however Nicholas needed blue goggles. So now we have a pair of Pink and a pair of Blue goggles.

Here is elsie blowing her breath out …

blow my breath

and yes, we just went “nakie-poo” in the pool.

Well Princess Pool – you win this time.

Spilled Milk

07 17 2009

When we were up in Montana for July 4th, Elsie found a tiny porcelain cat that she named “Baby Mittens” after the character in the movie Bolt. She was forever searching for “Mommy Mittens” and a whole Mittens family. Baby Mittens did not return to Colorado with us, but imagine the joy when Elsie received a gift from Grandpa Michael and Grammy Alison that contained a tiny family of porcelain cats and a bucket of spilled milk. The cats were something that Elspeth had in her office to relax her children and give them something to focus on and now Elsie is greatly enjoying role-playing with them.
